Bathroom Remodel To-Do List

July 22, 2024

The first order of business for a bathroom remodel is choosing the style and finishes to accomplish the look. There are many things to consider when selecting tile, cabinets, and plumbing fixtures. A 12 x 24 porcelain or ceramic wall tile is the most versatile option for selecting a shower wall tile. Polished tile options will provide the most beauty and least maintenance. Matte finishes will hold onto soap and water residues. The shower floor should usually be a mosaic or tile 4 inches or smaller to create the slope for drainage. Larger tiles can be used but need to be cut at angles to create a drainage slope.

Cabinetry trends are whites, greys, and black but natural wood tones are making the most impactful design trends. Shaker-style cabinets are still on point for bathroom remodel trends but the Euro-style flat panel doors are the newest design trend for creating modern bathroom renovations.

Plumbing fixtures are one of the most important selections to make for a shower remodel. We recommend Delta brand shower fixtures for your shower remodel. Delta offers the most styles, colors, trends, and price points for any bathroom remodel. If adding a new tub, start with the tub filler and match the other components to the tub filler as not all series offer a tub filler, especially a floor mount free-standing tub filler.

We offer the most versatile options for curb-less showers and free-standing tubs. Ask us about any of your remodel questions. Our experience shines through as we educate our customers along the way to help them make the best choices for all their bathroom remodel selections. When we first start any new project, the first thing we do is apply plastic to doorways or entry points to the work areas and put paper runners on the floors to your front door. We do everything we can to minimize the dust in your house, even from walking back and forth from the work areas. We apply plastic over beds, blinds, furniture, cabinets, etc. We go the extra mile to keep your home livable.
